Friday, June 10, 2011 - 7:30PM

From Sappho to Rachel Carson, from camp counselors to nuns, explore the historical enclaves where lesbians have attempted to live out our dreams and escape from our nightmares.  This program is for all abilities, genders, and orientations.  Led by playwright and director Carolyn Gage, the author of more than sixty plays and seven books on lesbian theatre and the 2009 winner of the national Lambda Literary Award in Drama.

An Anti-Bullying Workshop Confronting Teen Suicide

Sunday, June 12, 2011 - 2:00PM

UGLY DUCKLINGS is a national campaign to reduce bullying and harassment of LGBTQ youth.  It is a fearless look at suicide in the LGBTQ community - an issue which has been swept under the rug for decades.  How can we confront bullying and educate others about how to deal with this endemic problem?  The issues and answers are examined through the presentation of key scenes from Carolyn Gage's play, UGLY DUCKLINGS, a screening of a documentary based on Gage's play, and a panel discussion featuring the playwright and local leaders connected with the issues.
